I’m attending the Boston Walk for Choice event on Saturday. Believe it or not, this will be my first time attending a Choice event in person, even though I definitely attended a bunch of them in spirit and web-based solidarity. Since this is my first time, I’m super excited to make a sign with a rad Pro-Choice slogan. I did some Google image searching to get ideas.
And my personal favorite:
What should my sign say?
The best I’ve come up with so far is:
My Vagina:
I decide what goes in
AND what comes out
Please – drop some suggestions for me in the comments!
I’ve always been fond of “Unplanned Pregnancy should be rare; Abortion should be safe and legal. – Faye Wattleton”
For the uninitiated, Wattleton was the president of Planned Parenthood in 1992 when Bill Clinton made his infamous “safe, legal and rare” comment that has become the go-to talking point for politicians who don’t want to go too far out on a limb for reproductive rights. When asked to comment, the above was how Wattleton responded.
“Abortion is legal, remember?”
I tend to think of embryos/fetuses as Schroedinger’s cat these days. Maybe something clever about Shcroedinger’s Baby?
It’s easy to be Pro Choice when you are not the human being being MURDERED.
God forbid women have a choice when it comes to their reproductive health.
It’s easy being Pro-Life when it’s not YOUR life it affects. Make your OWN choice. That’s all.
No one is pro-abortion. – President Barack Obama
Some chants could make good sign slogans:
Keep your rosaries off my ovaries!
My body, my mind, my right to decide!
Whose choice? My choice!
Not the church, not the state, women will decide their fate!
